The Counter Associate plays an important role in ensuring a positive customer experience at JoMart Chocolates. Our brick and mortar store on Ave R in Brooklyn, NY is the heart of our business. This position involves engaging with customers, addressing their inquiries, filling orders and assisting with all steps from packing hand crafted chocolates, preparing gift boxes, filling chocolate showcases and aiding with various related tasks. The primary goal is to create a welcoming environment that encourages customer loyalty and satisfaction as well as keeping the store looking beautiful and pleasant. The Counter Associate will also be responsible for processing transactions accurately and efficiently, contributing to the overall operational success of the organization. This role will communicate with other staff to ensure the back of house is up to date on inventory and other needs. Ultimately, this role is vital in fostering a culture of service excellence and enhancing the reputation of JoMart Chocolates.
Preferred Qualifications:
Food Knowledge
Experience in retail or hospitality environments.
Familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
Responsibilities:
Greet customers warmly and assist them with their inquiries and requests.
Process transactions accurately, including cash handling and credit card processing.
Maintain a clean and organized storefront area to ensure a pleasant shopping experience.
Provide information about products and services, helping customers make informed decisions.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and address any customer concerns.
Creating boxes and packages of chocolates for retail and special orders
Working with back of house to complete custom and wholesale orders
Working with marketing and design team to keep all items labeled and stocked.
